Cycling Suomi

Two crazy Dutch cousins cycling Finland.

When I jokingly asked my cousin Marcia last spring if she wanted to join me on my cycling trip in Finland, her answer surprisingly was yes!

Left is Marcia, right is me ( Loes), young and still young!

I didn't believe her in the beginning, only after she bought a proper bike and booked the flight, the joke turned into reality. We were going together!

It was time to plan the trip, and although the daily amount of kilometres scared us, we had reached the point of no return. This trip turned out to be all about fighting our monsters, our fears, which already started with the preparations.

We planned the route along the west- coast which would take us from  Helsinki via Turku, Pori, Vaasa to our  destination Oulu. Since a girl need her comfort now and then ( hot shower, sauna, mirrors) we also planned to stay in as many Hi-Hostels along this road  and write about our travel experiences on the Hostelling Finland blog.

In the coming weeks you will be able to read all about our adventures and how we met our fears and  had our struggles. But let's not whine about that now, I will have plenty of opportunity to do this in my next posts!
